Where Emberly
Goes Further
AI Scanner
Point and scan any cigar band for instant identification. No barcodes, no manual lookup — just 98% confidence in one tap. Boxpressed has no scanning.
Spirits Pairing
The only cigar app that crosses the boundary into spirits. Emberly pairs every cigar with bourbon, scotch, rum, tequila, and more using AI flavor analysis. Boxpressed is cigars only.
Portfolio Valuation
Know what your collection is worth in real dollars. Emberly tracks valuation, aging progress, and storage locations across multiple humidors. Boxpressed tracks quantity, not value.

The key differences
Why Connoisseurs
Choose Emberly
Boxpressed Doesn't Know Your Spirits
If you're the kind of person who reaches for a Woodford Reserve when you light up a Padrón — Boxpressed has nothing for you. Emberly's AI pairing engine analyzes flavor profiles across 4,200+ cigars and 1,800+ spirits to tell you exactly which bourbon complements that Maduro, and why. It's the feature the cigar world has been missing for years.
Your Collection Has Real Value — Track It
Premium cigars are an investment. A well-stocked humidor can be worth thousands of dollars. Emberly treats your collection like a portfolio — tracking every stick's current value, age, storage location, and tasting notes. Boxpressed tells you how many cigars you have. Emberly tells you what they're worth.
AI Scanning vs Manual Search
Adding a cigar to Boxpressed means searching by name. Adding a cigar to Emberly means pointing your camera. Our AI recognizes the band in real time — brand, blend, wrapper, vitola — with up to 98% confidence. At a lounge, at a shop, in your humidor: one tap and it's logged.
The Lounge: A Community, Not Just a Feed
Boxpressed has a feed where you can see what others are smoking. Emberly has the Lounge — a dedicated community space where enthusiasts share smokes, run polls, earn badges, and climb the leaderboard. It's the difference between a timeline and a real cigar club.

Emberly vs Boxpressed
FAQ
Emberly goes significantly further than Boxpressed on almost every dimension. The two key additions are AI cigar scanning (no barcode required — just point your camera) and full cigar-and-spirits pairing, which Boxpressed doesn't offer at all. Emberly also adds community polls and leaderboards, portfolio valuation, and multi-dimensional review scoring. If you love Boxpressed's community, you'll feel at home in Emberly — and you'll get a lot more on top of it.
We're building import tools for members. In the meantime, the AI scanner makes re-logging your collection fast — point your phone at each band and it's added in one tap. For large collections, our team is happy to help you migrate manually during onboarding.
No. Boxpressed requires you to search for a cigar by name or browse the catalog. Emberly's AI scanner lets you point your phone at any cigar band and instantly identifies the brand, blend, wrapper, and vitola — no typing required. This is one of the most impactful differences in day-to-day use.
